The Risen King: Advancing the Kingdom Through the Victory of Christ
Resurrection is not only an event—it is the declaration that Jesus Christ reigns as King. Through His life, death and resurrection, the Kingdom of God was revealed with power, restoring humanity’s access to God and establishing victory over sin, death, and darkness.
This month we reflect on the journey to the cross, the triumph of the resurrection, and the Kingdom authority believers now carry because Christ lives.
Week 2: The Cross — The Cost of the Kingdom
Scriptures:
📖 Isaiah 53:5 (KJV) – “But he was wounded for our transgressions… and with his stripes we are healed.”
📖 John 19:30 (KJV) – “It is finished.”
📖 Colossians 2:14–15 (KJV) – “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us… and having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them.”
Reflection:
The cross stands at the center of the Kingdom story. What looked like defeat was actually the greatest victory in history. Jesus willingly gave His life to redeem humanity, paying the price for sin and breaking the power of darkness.
When Christ declared, “It is finished,” He announced that the work of redemption was complete. The curse was broken, the debt was paid, and access to God was restored. The cross was not the end—it was the doorway to resurrection life.
Through the sacrifice of Jesus, the Kingdom of God was opened to all who believe. The cross reminds us that God’s love is powerful enough to overcome even death itself.
💡 Take time this week to thank Jesus for the sacrifice He made. Reflect on the freedom His finished work has brought into your life.
